Vitamins…What Should You Be Taking?

I recognize that vitamins play a vital role in my overall health.  When I don’t take my vitamins, I don’t feel as well and my body tends to not be as happy. I also notice other little things, like broken nails, dull hair, and dry skin. However, these “little” things can add up. Luckily, there are vitamins out there to combat these things, especially if you’re not getting these essential vitamins in your daily food.

Vitamin A: Helps with skin and eyesight cellular growth

Vitamin B: A metabolism booster (think B-Complex i.e., B6 or B12)

Vitamin C: Immune system booster; assists with the production of collagen, cartilage, tendons, and ligaments

Vitamin D: Strengthens bones ( Vitamin D deficiencies are common in women so make sure you are supplementing if you’re not eating any dairy)

Vitamin E: Assists in brain and muscle development

Multivitamin: A multivitamin actually contains all of the afore mentioned vitamins A-E and can be taken once daily

Omega-3 (Fish Oil): Keeps the brain, heart, and eyes healthy in addition to nourishing hair and skin

Biotin: Encourages hair and nail growth, and nourishes skin from the inside out

Iron: Increases energy, improves concentration and sleep, and strengthens the immune system
