BB Cream

I don’t know about you but I’m the type of girl who likes to look somewhat put together at all times. With the summer months being rather warm, no one wants to be that girl with makeup running off her face. When we go out with foundation, concealer, shadow, blush, lipstick, primer, etc. it can easily clog up your pores and feel like you have a ton of makeup on your face. And I don’t know about you but I HATE THAT!!! Then again, if it’s melting off your face perhaps you have on too much.

Being new to everything makeup and just trying to find the right shades, and techniques and products is so time consuming and can be so frustrating! I was into a deep Google research coma trying to find a foundation alternative, But thank the LORD for YouTube! While clicking around I came across many women (and men) who seemed to know all things makeup and more. I was able to find women who were close to my complexion that gave extensive reviews of the product and application to include product consistency, coverage and how long it would last once applied.

Through my research, I was able to find the solution to my problem. BB Cream! BB Cream or Beauty Balm is publicized as an all-in-one facial cosmetic product to replace serum, moisturizer, primer, foundation and sunblock. It can be worn alone as a tinted moisturizer, over serum and moisturizer as a regular foundation, and under powder, depending on the desired amount of coverage. It really helps add some nice coverage and gives a great summer glow. I use it almost every day and it’s a great sub to my regular moisturizer. So if you girls are looking for something to wear in the summer that is light and still effective, look into BB Cream. I use Maybelline’s BB Cream; it comes in five shades and for only $8. Check out some of the other brands and options below.

Bobbi Brown $42

Body Shop $20

Garnier $11

Iman $20

Revlon $9

Smashbox $39

  • I agree. BB Cream is such a great alternative to foundation in the warm months. I, too, after trying some of the more expensive brands have settled on Maybellines Dream Fresh BB Cream, in sheer dark tint. It’s creamy, smooth, lightweight, and provides good coverage. I do usually add a setting powder to keep in in place longer.

    • Anita, BB Cream changed my life! I know it sounds silly but I love that I can just put it on real quick and I feel done up you know! It really is light weight and gives great coverage without feeling heavy or greasy! I also use setting powder to make it last longer. I have been thinking about checking out Iman’s & Revlon’s as I have heard good things.
