We always had a kiddie table at family gatherings for the holidays. I remember my parents breaking out the Fisher Price table for us little folk and thinking how cool it was that we had our own table to talk about “fun” stuff. I have no idea what the topic of conversation was all those years ago, but I do remember that hanging out at our table was the thing to do!
Now that I have my own little one, I decided to make the kiddie table special again by letting Jackson (and his cousins) decorate their very own placemats to use at dinner! This is the best thing ever because it gives the kids something to do while they wait for dinner. An added bonus is seeing their little faces all filled with pride when they show you their artwork…it’s really a win-win.
The best part of this whole process is that it won’t take a long time to set up and yet it will offer tons of entertainment for the kids.
Here’s what you’ll need to get started…
Kraft paper (11 x 17)
Crayons – Have at least 3 packs on hand if you expect a lot of kids. You don’t want a fight breaking out over the green crayon.
Turkey Placemat Template – Print out one of these for each kid.
I’ll be sure to check back and update this post with Jackson’s very own placemat masterpiece.
Have a cool idea that will keep the kiddies occupied on Thanksgiving? Sharing is caring…us Moms have to stick together!
