As you ladies know, I have been loving how chic blue is lately, especially since I think it looks better on me than all white (another summer trend). I was at the nail salon getting a pedi and I thought…hmmm…how would blue look on my toes?! Thus, I jumped WAY into the deep end. First, I chose a cobalt blue, but that color really didn’t work for me because of my skin tone. The next hue I chose was a sky blue color, which looked okay, but didn’t really thrill me. Finally, I tried a robin-egg blue that looks just like my Tiffany’s jewelry box. It was perfect! I am a solid medium brown color, but my feet have this weird yellow undertone that somehow works well with lighter or pastel colors.
I am so happy with the way my toenails have turned out. I was not joking when I said they match my jewelry box either! Although, while we are on the topic of my jewelry box, it is probably time that I invested in a brand new one. My jewelry collection has grown so much since I last bought my Tiffany box, but choosing the right one is not going to be easy. I have already found so many pretty jewelry box options in this amazing guide from Rank & Style. Which one do you like best? I cannot make up my mind! They are all so beautiful.
Anyway, until I finally get a new jewelry box, I guess the moral of this story is that the same dress with the dark blue hue that looks amazing on you may not look as good on your toes. Lesson learned! Just in case you want to grab the two nail polishes that worked the best for me…see the pics below.
The two that I like the most are:
1. Essie nail polish in turquoise and caicos: $8 at Macys
2. Revlon Brilliant Strength Nail Enamel in Mesmerize: $8 at CVS
Be sure to let me know how this summer trend is working for you. Are you feeling blue?
