Face Brush: Yay or Nay?

I don’t know about you, but I’ve had quite a hard time finding a product or tool that would help cleanse my skin. Since I have sensitive skin, I can’t just use anything because my skin will become irritated very easily.

One day, as I happened to be in ULTA wondering up and down the aisles aimlessly looking for something to catch my eye, I came across a face brush. I had never heard of or seen a tool like this one before. So, I picked up the box and started reading. However, I noticed that while ULTA had their own brand, so did other companies like Oil of Olay and Neutrogena  and of course there was also the popular Clarisonic.  And, based on the verbiage on the boxes, all of the different brushes appeared to do the same thing.

This face brush technology is supposed to gently cleanse away the dirt and debris you acquire during the day while also gently clearing your pores and prepping your skin to better absorb facial products. In this way, you are not putting your skin care products on the surface of your skin; it is getting deep down into your pores to be more effective. With regular use, one’s skin is supposed to feel and look smoother and younger.

So, I decided to test it. As I wanted to see if this was a worthwhile investment, I opted for the ULTA brand. After I got home that night, I read the directions, removed my makeup, took out my cleanser, and proceeded to use the brush. And, to my surprise, the brush was BROWN!! I thought I had taken off all my makeup, but when that face brush went to work, it picked up things that had clearly gotten into my pores and that a simple makeup wipe could not get off. I rinsed my face and did it once more just to see if there was more makeup in my pores. By this time, the cleanser only had a hint of brown, which meant I had significantly less makeup left on my face. Upon my second rinse, my skin looked so much cleaner and fresher than before.

I continued to use the face brush daily while also making sure to tone and moisturize properly after. After just one month, there was a visible improvement to my skin. My pores seemed smaller and my skin was so much softer and clearer. It also glowed more! Family and friends alike asked me what was different about me. I told them about the face brush; some of them went to do their own investigation and found quite the success with it.

I just hope that if you ladies decide to invest in one, you do your research to find the right one for you. Till next time…

  • This post is so helpful for me. I’ve been trying to decide if I would make this investment for my skin. I have very acne prone skin and I’m using something from my dermatologist and I’ve been trying to decide if this will help my skin or make it worst. But I think after reading this, I will take a leap of faith and just try it. I will consult with my doctor first, but I think I’m heading to Ulta tonight after work! 🙂 Thanks so much!

    • Danette, I will be the first to admit that having my face brush really changed my life! lol The visible improvement in my skin after a months use was something I hadn’t been able to achieve in my 28years of using several different skin care products. I definitely helps you take care of your skin better!! I hope you see the same results!
