Have you ever had one of those moments where you have no idea what you wanted to cook for dinner? Sure, you know how to cook, but you get tired of cooking the same old thing. I found myself feeling the same way as I made spaghetti for the third time in a month and decided to enlist the help of some cookbooks to get my creative juices flowing.
One of the books I came across is Time for Dinner written by Pilar Guzman, Jenny Rosenstrach, and Alana Stang. This book is different from other cookbooks on the market because it not only offers ideas on what to make for dinner, but also suggests ways to turn the preparation of one ingredient into three different meals! My personal favorite included taking cooked apples and using it to make sausage with apples (it was really good) and then using the leftover apples to make apple pancakes for breakfast and to mix with some ice cream and granola for dessert.
The book also offers some tips for basic ingredients to cook over the weekend like a marinara sauce and caramelized onions that you can use in dishes that you plan to make for the upcoming week…which is kinda genius!
Stay tuned as I attempt to cook my way through this entire book and post my results to see if this cookbook is indeed a keeper!
