Living and working in the Nation’s Capitol can be expensive. If you’re like me and you don’t always bring food from home, you may find yourself paying $10 – $15 a day for lunch, now multiply that by 5 days a week and it really adds up! If you’re one of those folks who refuse to bring your lunch to work or are working in the area for the summer, check out these cheap lunch options in the city!
1. GBD, Connecticut Ave, NW (www.gbdchickendoughnuts.com)
This place is awesome for one reason and one reason only…it sells fried chicken! GBD offers a great option for those looking to get the best bang for their buck. You can order the Tendie Lunchbox, which comes with chicken tenders, one side and a biscuit for $8. If you are craving a salad, they have a delicious GBD sesame salad that’s also $8.
2. Roti, Several Locations (www.roti.com)
Roti is an option for folks who get tired of eating sandwiches. This restaurant offers pita wraps, salad, and rice platters with options to add chicken kabobs or fresh veggies for $8. 3. Bread Line, Pennsylvania Ave, NW (http://breadline.com)
