For Christmas 2013 A+J Gave back through a Christmas Homeless Feeding, this year we wanted to do something different. Community service is an area in which we are both very passionate about because we know in helping others we are helping ourselves. So we did some research to figure out what might be a good fit for us and settled upon volunteering with the Salvation Army.
The Salvation Army is an international Christian charitable organization and operate 7,546 centers in communities across the United States. These include food distribution, disaster relief, rehabilitation centers, anti-human trafficking efforts, and a wealth of children’s programs.
Through our research we chose to join the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign. The Red Kettle Christmas Campaign enables the Salvation Army to provide food, toys and clothing to over 6 million people during the Christmas season and helps more than 34 million Americans recovering from all kinds of personal disasters nationwide. The campaign, first started in San Francisco in 1891, and has traditionally been the Salvation Army’s most prominent fund-raiser.
So with our A+J Team up we were very excited to be able to make it possible to give back this year. Check out our fun times below from Ringing the Bell with the Salvation Army.
