How many times have you logged on to your computer, pulled up Google and then typed in something fitness related? Whether it has been a diet fad your interested in, or trying to figure out how to get 6 pack abs in 30 days, your always using the internet to find what you need. Well look no further. Thankfully we have Fitness Blogs to refer to for all our health and fitness needs. They cover a range of topics from proper nutrition, workouts, supplement use, weight loss and more. Below is a list I frequent and have found to be great in my health and fitness adventures. I hope they are as good to you as they have been to me!
Black Girls Guide to Weight Loss – Erika, who once tipped the scales at 330lbs, is a woman who tracked her journey of losing over 160lbs and documented how she has changed her life. Her blog discusses weight loss, wellness, food, fitness, body image, and more. She has created a place where women can come together and learn about themselves and their health together – becoming healthy and happy through support, accountability, and positivity!
Fit Moms Blog – Rachel, shares what she’s learned being an athlete while balancing her life as wife and mother of two. She spreads words of inspiration, through telling women that being fit is the best thing to be and it’s a great way to live! Her blog focuses on getting a work out in with or without kids. By day she teaches physical education and yoga to children 18 months to 12 years old at her children’s school, and is also a certified in Cross Fit. On her blog you’ll also find perhaps one of the best comprehensive lists, whereas she compares and actively recommends personal training courses. You’ll be able to see why personal training courses work, and the leading providers in each country.
Grit By Brit – Brit, is a 29-year-old, woman from the state of Texas. She had once tipped the scales at 179lbs, but looked in the mirror one day and made a change. Today she is holding steady around 150-155lbs, and has kept the weight off for over 2 years. She is a full-time corporate consultant and a part-time group fitness instructor for W Hotels and 24 Hour Fitness in Dallas, TX. She encourages readers to believe that, “no matter your goals, your ability to succeed solely depends on your mental GRIT.” She posts customized designed workouts, nutritional and healthy diet plans, and personal accounts for inspiration.
Miz Fit Online– Launched in 2007 Miz Fit has been sharing health and fitness knowledge with those who might not have access to one-on-one training. Nineteen years ago she shed 35 pounds and never looked back. She has not regained, gone off track or let motherhood and marriage derail her. Having gained most of the weight in college through drinking sodas and poor eating habits, she found that lacking funds for new clothes meant she needed to lose weight to fit the ones she had. She then commenced exercising and a healthy eating regime, and now writes to inspire and encourage others to do the same.
Sporty Afros – Sporty Afros provides resources for African-American women to take control of their health. Sporty Afros allows women to ask questions, have discussions, and receive tips and answers about fitness/workout routines and healthy nutrition while providing practical workout hair care solutions. In doing so, Sporty Afros has developed the first line of hair care products specifically formulated for physically active black women.
Workout Mommy – Established in 2007 by Lisa, Workout Mommy is a blog about health and fitness for moms. Before kids, she was a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, marathon runner, and overall fitness junkie. But when she had children, everything changed. Having four kids to take care of is no easy task and being a mom requires that you work 24/7 for someone other than yourself, so finding time to exercise and stay healthy is a challenge. Through her blog she helps women with that challenge and keeps them motivated and on task because as she notes, “it CAN be done!”
