3 Workout Classes to Try This Summer

1. Boxing

I actually tried this style of exercise last year with JANE; if it had not been soooo hot, I would have actually enjoyed it. An hour-long workout includes jump roping, running laps around the boxing ring, and different interval punching attacks. This is probably the best form of exercise because if you have an imagination, then you can envision your least favorite person’s face right in the center of the bag.

2.     Burlesque Dancing

This class can serve a dual purpose. It can help you tone your legs and arms and it can also give you some new moves to try on your man! Now, I’m not going to lie and say this is entirely comfortable at first. The class does teach some legitimate fitness moves like lunges and leg lifts. These moves can be especially challenging if you’re trying to look sexy and work up a good sweat. But, keep working on it and I promise your legs will be more defined and your confidence will be through the roof! Red light special, anyone?

3.     Bikram Yoga (Hot Yoga)

Anything that involves excessive heat is usually not for me. But, I took one of these hot yoga classes and the only regret I had was not wearing less clothing. This class teaches all the same positions you’re used to seeing in a “traditional” yoga class…the temperature is just set to HELL. Come prepared with several hand towels and a lot of mental focus and you should be fine.
